I like to create handles for knives and swords, all wood of course since I'm a woodcarver.
The knife handle below is all about Thor, protector of Midgard. The handle contains the following two interesting rune sets:
'þór vígi' in Old Norse means 'Thor bless' or 'Thor make strong'. It can be considered as a protection spell/formula to ask for Thor's protection.
'Einridi' in Old Norse means 'he who rides alone'. Although Thor is famous, he is not often mentioned in the old tales or Edda's. He is usually mentioned like 'Thor was not present as he was somewhere in the east fighting giants'.
